Overtraining just the bottom muscles of our pelvis can exacerbate the problem by leading to hypertonic muscles that can't perform their full function. Not until we additionally address the mid and upper pelvic as well as the tranverse abdominis, diaphragm, chest and back muscles, and improve posture will we prevent the downward pressure that forward head and shoulder carriage, or too much sitting, creates on our organs. Downward pressure overwhelms and disarms the musculature needed to hold our organs in place. This work is also essential for men or women who have an overactive bladder and problems with urge control.
